Our History
A&R Williams has been supplying firewood since 1996, alongside managing a small beef herd and working for the Environment Agency operating niche machinery on floodbanks and other hard-to-reach areas. On our days off, we often walked the dogs through local woodlands, where they would splash in the water-filled ruts left by modern timber extraction. From those walks, an idea began to form.
Today, we offer a specialist timber extraction service using a purpose-built mini forwarder. At just 1.7 metres wide, 2.5 metres high and 5 metres long, it can access footpaths, towpaths, pavements, woodlands and many other sensitive locations such as schools, hospitals, colleges and private estates. Whether it’s a single fallen tree or a larger project, our compact machinery allows us to remove timber efficiently while minimising ground disturbance and protecting the environment.
